Blanket Approval is a 4-piece indie rock band from New York City. Since their inception in 2022 they’ve played high-energy shows throughout their hometown, up and down the east coast, from Burlington, VT to Tampa, FL, and have cultivated an online fan base through viral shorts and Spotify’s Fresh Finds. September 2025 marked a breakthrough moment for Blanket Approval, as Twenty One Pilots released their #1 album Breach, featuring the band’s songwriting on the track “Robot Voices.”

Singer/guitarist Jack Matteucci took a collection of demos recorded in the basement of his physics lab and moved to Brooklyn in 2021,  where he met drummer/singer Joey Hadden. In a chance meeting at a local punk show, Jack literally bumped into bassist Max Mena, while around the same time, singer/keyboardist/guitarist Rahul Chakraborty joined the mix via the world wide web. The band began rehearsing frequently, hanging out, spending nights recording new music and goofy, but serious, but not-too-serious, shorts. 

2026 will welcome Blanket Approval’s debut album, Heartbreak City, a groovy, sing-along, nostalgic-yet-refreshing collection of 13 songs, drawing influence from bands like MGMT, Portugal. The Man, The Bee Gees, Iggy Pop, Parcels, & Queens of the Stone Age. Blanket Approval leaves you dancing, shouting, and not even a little concerned for their bassist rolling around on the floor.
